BELOW, RIGHT: Aluminum perch added 4/26/02 w/the hopes of attracting Kestrels. In Dec, a Kestrel landed a tree near Kestrel house before it was built. Bluebirds harassed the Kestrel into leaving. During Bluebird nesting season, Kestrels eat mostly insects. Kestrels usually eat birds and rodents in the winter when suitable insects are not available.

Monitoring notes:
4/6/02 Kestrel seen flying w/in 50' of box 2x, 1st proximity sighting since mounting box.
2/21/2003 Kestrel on perches @ 8AM, it caught & ate a worm or bug.
2004 Saw only Starlings on box.
2005 Saw only Starlings on box.
