19th Kestrel nest box site

ABOVE: 19th Kestrel Falcon nest box: Located on a tree facing east and slightly south, this box is situated in a boggy section of a large field and is near a wooded area so that Screech Owls can use the box as well. The box was constructed using scrap 10" PVC pipe and roofing plywood. The entrance is 10' high.

The box is close to boxes 18 and 20-21, and was mounted on 11/26/02. It is in the Poolesville area of Montgomery County, MD, on NIH's property. I am very grateful to NIH for allowing me to use their campus for this project.
